Terms of Service
Parlor's written terms of service are being finalised and will be published on this page.
Until then, these things already hold, whatever the final wording says:
- There is no contract. Plans are month to month and you can stop any month.
- Your guest list, bookings and email subscribers are yours. Ask and we'll send you a copy.
- No card is needed for the 30-day trial, and nothing is charged without your say-so.
- Selling tickets online needs a card on file. Parlor's per-ticket fee applies from your first ticket sold online by card, during the 30-day trial as well as after it. It is billed to that card as soon as $50 of fees has built up, and otherwise once a month. The fee on a refunded ticket is credited back. If you stop using Parlor, fees already owed are billed on one final invoice.
Parlor is provided by Parlor HQ LLC, a Florida limited liability company. "Parlor", "we" and "us" in these terms mean Parlor HQ LLC.
How Parlor handles your data and your guests' data is set out in the privacy policy.
If you have a question about the terms, or need them in writing before you sign up, email [email protected].
API terms
These apply to anyone who uses the Parlor API: the venue that asked for access, and anyone who builds or runs software with that venue's keys.
"Parlor", "we" and "us" here mean Parlor HQ LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which provides Parlor and the API.
Access is by request
API access is given to venues on the Pro or Group plan (or on an older Parlor arrangement that already includes Zapier), one venue at a time, when we approve the venue owner's request. We may say no, and we do not have to give a reason. Access lasts while the venue's plan includes it and until either side ends it.
What you may do
- Use the API only for the venue's own business: running its bookings, guests, email list, events and reporting.
- Do not sell, rent or share the venue's guest data with anyone who is not working for the venue.
- Do not use the API to send marketing to anyone who has not agreed to it, and never email or text someone who has unsubscribed or asked not to be contacted. An unsubscribe in Parlor must be honoured in your system too.
- Do not try to reach another venue's data, get round a limit or a refusal, test Parlor's security without our written permission, or put more load on Parlor than the rate limits allow.
- Do not use the API to build a product that copies Parlor or competes with it.
- Keys made for Zapier are for Parlor's Zapier app only. Using one from any other software breaks these terms, and we may switch it off. For your own software, ask for API access.
Rate limits
Each key has a limit on requests per minute, set out in the developer guide. Past it, requests are refused until the minute is up. We may change the limits; if a change would stop working software, we will tell the venue first where we reasonably can.
Keys
Keep keys secret and on a server. Never put one in a web page, a phone app or a public code repository. If a key may have leaked, revoke it in Parlor at once and make a new one. The venue is responsible for everything done with its keys.
Guest data is the venue's, and so is the duty to protect it
The API gives you the venue's guests' personal details: names, email addresses, phone numbers and booking history. Once that data leaves Parlor, the venue is responsible for it, as the business those guests dealt with, and so is anyone handling it for the venue. That means you must:
- keep it secure, with access limited to the people who need it;
- collect and keep only what the venue needs, and delete it when it is no longer needed or when the venue or the guest asks;
- follow the privacy and marketing laws that apply to the venue and its guests, and the venue's own privacy policy;
- tell the venue, and us, without delay if the data or a key is lost, stolen or seen by someone who should not have it.
Changes to the API
Version 1 of the API will not have things taken away or changed in meaning; new things may be added at any time. A change that would break working software comes as a new version, and the old one keeps working for at least 12 months after we announce the new one, except where a security or legal problem forces us to move faster.
Ending access
The venue can revoke keys, or stop using the API, at any time. We may suspend or withdraw a venue's API access, straight away and without notice where necessary, if these terms are broken, a key is misused or looks compromised, the venue's plan no longer includes API access, or we need to protect guests, other venues or Parlor. When access ends, every API key for that venue stops working at once. Nothing in the venue's Parlor account is deleted because API access ended.
No warranty
The API is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose, and software built on it should cope with it being unavailable for a while. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by the API being unavailable, slow or wrong, or by what anyone does with data obtained through it.
